Musculoskeletal Disorders Musculoskeletal conditions include more than 150 diseases and syndromes, which are usually progressive and painful. Among the elderly, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis are associated with loss of independence and the need for greater support in the community or admission to a residential care facility.
